isabel and breandaBrenda and Isabel welcome you to our community in Harborne, Birmingham. Our house has been referred to by many as 'The Open Door'. We are open house to Parish Groups, School Staff, Family and Friends who come from time to time to have meetings, 'inset' days liturgies and relaxation. Individuals and groups enjoy quiet days and really appreciate the peaceful atmosphere that can be found in our 'home' in Harborne.

We are both involved in a very active Cafod group in the parish of St. Marys where we have regular meetings. We look at the projects suggested by Cafod and decide how we can involve the Parish in implementing the suggestions. Our recent project raised £1,800 to fund salaries for Health Visitors in Africa. Our previous project raised enough to fund 50 bicycles for the Health Visitors. The parishioners are extremely generous and are always ready to help 'the other'.

Isabel and BrendaCCJ meetings are also a regular part of our lives and we encourage friends, parishioners and the Jesuits (who are our neighbours), to attend the meetings which occur once a month. We are also members of BCF (Birmingham Council of Faiths) and have joint meetings with CCJ several times a year. The Religious in the Diocese meet at least three times a year and have 'input' on various topics. Brenda is part of the group which organises these events.

I provide alternative therapies to those who have need of them. Some are helped by receiving more energy others are helped to relax. This enables them to cope better with life. I am also involved in Spiritual Accompaniment.

BrendaSions work in the Philippines is very Important to us as it is a 'Women's Livelihood Project'. I help to market and promote the sale of cards and other items from 'Nature's Garden'. I am also a member of the Leadership Team in the Province.

As Provincial much of my time is taken up in work within the Province. Three other sisters work with me on the Leadership T earn.

I am greatly involved in Parish Catechetics, co-ordinating the Confirmation Programme for young people. This involves liaising with and co-ordinating with the adults who assist in running the programme, and also working closely with the parents. Hospital Chaplaincy is another area in which I am involved voluntarily. Another aspect of my ministry is Spiritual Accompaniment both for individuals and school inset days.
