Province Weekend - Chapter Feedback

For the weekend of 5th - 7th November 2010, the province gathered at our community house in London to hear news of the General Chapter which happened in July this year in Rome. Each province sent a group of delegates to the General chapter where they reviewed the life of the Congregation during the last six years, and made plans and recommendations for the next six years.

At our weekend, our delegates described the life of the chapter and the different themes that were discussed. These themes included our Charism, Community life, Vocations and Formation, our situation in Jerusalem, Associates and friends, and plans for the future of the provinces.

The chapter seemed to be a lot of hard work for the delegates, but after last weekend, it seems that the real work of the chapter starts now, and all of us are to be involved.

At the General Chapter Sr Clare Jardine from our Province of UK / Ireland was elected onto the Congregational Leadership Team. Clare will serve on the team until the next General Chapter in 2016, and will be based in Rome. Clare moved from London to Rome just after our Province Weekend. At the Weekend, we gave Clare our blessing and good wishes for this important ministry and service in the congregation.
