Sion 'Old Girls'

retireesPupils at Our Lady of Sion Junior School bid a fond farewell to four of their teachers at the end of the Summer Term, who have 65 years of teaching experience at the school between them.

Mrs. Leslie Leng has been teaching at the school for 28 years, and is much-loved by the many children who have passed through her care in Year 3. As well as classroom teacher, she has been Senior Teacher at the school for several years, and her experience and expertise have been valued by all the staff.

Mrs. Jenny Simmonds has been at the school for the last 12 years, and is a popular class teacher and colleague.

Mrs. Frances Habberfield has taught English and Maths to children of all ages at the school for the last 9 years, and her cheerful presence will be missed by staff as well as pupils.

Mrs. Marion Christina has been at the school for the last 16 years, as a Classroom Assistant, and lately as Librarian. Her kind manner and her helpfulness have made her popular with staff and pupils alike.

Everyone at the school thanks them for their dedication to the school and to the children in heir care, and we wish them all every happiness in their retirement.

All four of the teachers agreed that Our Lady of Sion School is a very special place to work, they said the teamwork between staff, pupils and parents is amazing, and that their colleagues have become close friends as well as workmates. All of them hope to be able to come back and visit the children in the future.
