Belfast Sr Mary Cannon is a retired teacher living in
Belfast for almost two years. She does voluntary support teaching in the Parish
Primary School on two mornings a week. She is a Extraordinary Minister of the
Eucharist in the Parish visiting a local Nursing Home once a week. She is also
a Catechist for the Parents of the First Communion children and serves on the
Pastoral Council. Mary works with clients at "Cruse" Bereavement Care each week
and is also a Member of an Ecumenical Group in Belfast and attends their
Conferences and Summer School. Sr Therese Fitzgerald works with the Northern
Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities (NICEM) as a Community Development and
Advocacy Worker. At NICEM the main work is with Asylum Seekers and Refugees.
She also works in the area of counselling. Therese coordinates a 'Spirituality
for Social Engagement' conversation group which explored social justice issues
and the underpinning attitudes and values that affect our actions. She is
treasurer of the Belfast Council for Christians and Jews and is involved with
the women's group in the local parish. Sr Anne
Bickford came to Belfast from England on Easter Sunday 2005. She works as a
counsellor for an organisation called Staffcare. She is also involved in
Spiritual accompaniment both within and outside of the congregation and
continues to keep links with the Christian Life Community who have their roots
in Ignatian Spirituality. She is a member of the CCJ and is involved with other
groups promoting peace and dialogue. She enjoys networking and walking among a
variety of other things.Sr Sarah Lyth is in the first stage of the Formation Process. During this first year
Sarah is teaching in a local primary school. Sarah is from Elsmere Port in
Cheshire and was a student and then a teacher in Sheffield before joining the
Sisters of Sion in September, 2006. Sarah is a gifted artist. |
