Contemplative Sisters
It was a Sister of the Congregation, Christina, then responsible for the boarding school of Sion in Costa Rica, who heard God's call to carry on the desire of Father Theodore for a contemplative house of Sion.
The first contemplative community began in 1926 at Grandbourg (near Paris) in the house called "the Solitude". Today there are five contemplative communities - two in France, two in Brazil and one in Israel.
The Sisters live out God's call to Sion by prayer, daily chant of the Divine Office, adoration, reading and study of God's Word in Christian and Jewish traditions. They want to be women of hope and reconciliation. They earn their living by manual work.

The year 2005 - 2006 marked the 140th Anniversary of the birth of Mother Christina in 1865 and the 80th anniversary of the founding of "the Solitude" in 1926. During this year the Sisters of the Contemplative Branch of Sion invited the whole the whole Congregation to remember and discover the life of this remarkable woman - the "Year of Mother Christine"
