The General Chapter has called us to respond to "God's love for the whole of creation" and “to seek the Face of God in prayer and service of others according to the inspiration of Fr Theodore: 'God is Love'” 1. As women of faith we earnestly desire to make 'the fire of Sion's charism burn brightly within us' 2, being ever more deeply rooted in the biblical vision of the reign of God. We are being called, like Abraham and his descendents, to respond to God's invitation to be a source of blessing to our world. 3 (cf Gen 12:19). Therefore:
We commit ourselves to seek the values of Hesed 4 in our relationships
  • between each other
  • between the Church and the Jewish people
  • between the Church and other Christian traditions
  • between ourselves and those of different cultures and faiths, especially Islam
  • between ourselves and our environment
We commit ourselves to promote understanding, trust, justice and peace in situations where relationships are damaged or broken, especially where there is
  • anti-Semitism, Islamophobia
  • injustice, prejudice, racism, fear, ageism
  • marginalisation, exclusion
  • violence and brokenness
  • Poverty, deprivation and human need
We commit ourselves to
  • welcome new members
  • strengthen our associate groups
  • find ways to share our Sionian charism with others
  • Celebrate signs of hope
  • 'use our voice to challenge the unjust structures around us' 5
In all this we are sustained by a 'Covenant-Keeping' 6 God and nourished by:
  • A profound life of prayer which integrates the contemplative and active dimensions of our life
  • a biblical spirituality - strengthened by study of the Word of God according to the Jewish and Christian traditions
  • the support received through sharing our faith and our lives with each other
  • inclusive leadership and responsible membership
  • stronger links with communities, other provinces, our contemplative branch and the Religious of Sion
We will reflect on and evaluate regularly the living of this vision.

"Have hearts as big as the world." 7
