Two Silver Jubilees

On Sunday 20th July, the province celebrated the silver jubilees of Anne Brittain and Anne Lee.  The two Annes made Profession in the summer of 1983.  Since then, their lives have taken different directions.

After Profession, Anne Brittain studied Theology at Bristol University, and later taught in a school in Manchester for several years.  In 1995 Anne moved to our community in the Philippines where she was instrumental in setting up Hardin, or 'Nature's Garden'.  Hardin is a Womens’ Cooperative in which the members design and make beautiful greetings cards and jewellery.  Anne is also the formation directress for the new members who have recently joined the congregation in the Philippines.

Anne LeeAfter profession Anne Lee did nurse training and worked in hospitals in Manchester and later in Leeds, specialising in Leukaemia and Dermatology.  In 1996 Anne went to Jerusalem to work at Ecce Homo Convent in the Old City.  After 5 years, Anne returned to the province and did a course in Biblical Studies in Sheffield; Anne is now the Catholic Chaplain at Sheffield Hallam University.

The double Jubilee celebration took place during the Province gathering at Noddfa, Penmaenmawr.  The evening started with a time of prayer to give thanks to God for all her gifts.  This was followed by a lively party of story telling, singing, and lots of fun and laughter.
