Province Weekend
Last weekend (25th - 27th November) most members of the province gathered together at our house in Bayswater, London, to continue our our discussions about our future. In the summer of 2010 the congregation had a General Chapter, a meeting of delegates from each of the provinces of the congregation. The purpose of the General Chapter was to review the work and life of the congregation and to make plans for the future. At the General Chapter it was decided that we need to re-organise how we govern ourselves and how we share our resources nationally and internationally. So our meeting this weekend was to continue our conversations and plans towards our 'reconfiguration'. We worked hard, and we achieved a lot. It was good to be together.
On the Sunday afternoon, we all went to celebrate Mass at Kensal Green Cemetary. We have recently had a plaque put up in the chapel there to commemorate the many sisters who are buried there. During our Mass in the chapel, the plaque was blessed.
At the Mass we took the names of all the sisters we were remembering - each name written on a link of a paper chain.
After the Mass we went to the graves of our sisters and laid flowers on them. We were blessed with beautiful weather as we gave thanks for the lives of our sisters who have gone before us.
