The focus of today's readings is the three persons in the Godhead: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The first reading from the book of Exodus describes the revelation of God to Moses on Mount Sinai and proclaims that God is tender, compassionate, patient, kind and faithful. He is the God who first betrothed himself to the people of Israel and whom we too as Christians worship . We believe that God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that everyone could have eternal life. The Gospel passage from John's gospel describes the conversation Jesus has with Nicodemus when Jesus explains that it is through the cross that God brings eternal life to the world. The final words St Paul wrote in the letters we have to the Corinthians are in the full form of his customary Trinitarian blessing. The Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit is a life-giving and dynamic force in Christian life. Do you experience its life within you? The love you show to others and the love others have for you is the trinity in action. Spend a few moments reflecting on this life pulsating through your family and community. God is the source of the love we share. Worship God this week by repeating the words from the book of Daniel, "To you glory and praise for evermore".
