Grandbourg
The Sisters
of Sion in Grandbourg invite volunteers for a term of 1 or 2 months to work in
their guest / retreat house: Maison Ste Genevieve Grandbourg is a beautiful small village about 35 km south east of Paris.
Volunteering at Maison Ste Genevieve would be an ideal opportunity for those who value time for personal space and reflection. There may also be the possibility of improving you French by having regular conversation with one of the sisters.
Maison St Genevieve is located close the house
belonging to the Contemplative branch of the Sisters of Sion, called The
Solitude. Their regular cycle of prayer adds to the peaceful and quiet mood of
the village. Volunteer work includes
- Responsibility for the guest’s dining room
- Preparation of breakfast for the guests
- Washing up
- Taking care of the plants around the house
- Some gardening
Criterior for volunteer work
- Minimum age – 21
- Volunteers will agree to work for 4 hours a day in exchange for their room and board.
